KLAS’ goal in examining the digital health investment market? To shine a light on “the invisible hand of the market” and create a higher level of transparency, says Kent Gale.
In the final installment, Kent Gale talks about what it’s been like to work closely with his son, the role that volunteer work plays in his life, and what KLAS does to make sure quality never takes a back seat.
Why did KLAS decide to take on interoperability? “There was a lot of misinformation,” says Kent Gale, who also talks about what surprised him at the inaugural summit, and the next big area his team is focusing on.
Convincing providers to spend valuable time providing input on vendors wasn’t easy, but KLAS found a way, and a product was born, says Kent Gale, who opens up about how the company was formed, the tweaks they’ve made, and the biggest challenges they’ve faced.
The 2015 KLAS interoperability research did a great deal to dispel misperceptions and rumors and bring to light how individual vendors are performing, says Kent Gale. But it wouldn’t have been possible without a handful of “passionate industry leaders.”
