Dell plans to acquire cloud-based medical archiving provider InSite One, Inc.
In an email, Mitchell Goldburgh, senior vice president marketing and business development at InSiteOne, wrote, “We want to immediately reassure the market that everything will be business as usual. Once the deal closes, the entire InSite One team will transition to Dell. There will be no changes to our leadership team or reporting structure. In addition, we will continue to support and service the full range of InSite One technology and continue to work with the same InSite One team members as you have in the past.”
According to the organizations, the InSite One solution helps customers reduce costs associated with long-term data storage and migration, and eliminates the lack of sharing of images between medical professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
“The combination of InSite One’s cloud-based, vendor-neutral archive software and storage services with Dell’s Unified Clinical Archive solution will simplify data retention and let medical professionals access and share images regardless of the technology employed,” the organizations stated. “InSite One will give Dell a storage-as-a-service platform to archive digital content for companies in other industries on a subscription or pay-as-you-go basis.”
Terms of the transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, were not disclosed.
