Microsoft’s movement into healthcare has been slow, deliberate and fascinating. With products that now range from a PHR platform (HealthVault) to single-sign-functionality (Sentillion) to an information aggregation and analysis system (Amalga), the company is strategically picking up pieces of the healthcare continuum. But while Microsoft offers an HIS outside the United States, it says there are no plans to snap up one of the core clinical players in this country.
