One of the keys to meeting Penn Medicine’s core objectives – improving efficiency, reducing clinical burden, and delivering a better patient experience – is in establishing partnerships, said Anna Schoenbaum, VP of Applications and Digital Health. In her role as AVP of IS operations, one of Maureen Hetu’s core objectives is show how the work her team is doing “supports our patients, supports our clinicians, and contributes to the strategic success of the organization,” she said in a recent interview.
It’s not enough to ensure projects occur on time and on budget; IS leaders need to “provide the right talent for the initiatives that are most important to the organization, and make sure we stay in lockstep with clinical and operational leaders,” says Maureen Hetu.
