Gus Malezis joined Imprivata as its CEO in 2016, and in addition to improving the company’s bottom line, he instituted a renewed focus on customer service. That powered a resurgence in the company and a redefinition of the services it would provide to healthcare customers, with an increasing focus on digital identity services. That new direction for its product line seems prescient, as the healthcare industry shifted quickly to respond to COVID – ramping up remote and virtual care, greatly expanding telehealth services and utilizing remote workers to handle burgeoning capacity challenges. Malezis also says Imprivata is partnering to support customers during this difficult time, putting off the sales-call mentality for later. In this episode of healthsystemCIO’s Partner Perspective Series, Malezis talks with Editor-in-Chief Anthony Guerra and describes how authentication services will face increased demand as healthcare organizations change the way they provide care as a result of their COVID experiences.
