CCHIT Launches HITECH Certification Program

CCHIT has launched its ONC-ATCB program for EHRs to certify they are capable of meeting 2011/2012 Stage 1 Meaningful Use criteria. The certification will be offered for Complete EHRs that meet all HHS 2010/2011 criteria and EHR Modules that meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria. According to the organization, its first group of ONC-ATCB Certified EHRs will be announced within weeks. Certification applications and an additional “Get ONC-ATCB Certified 2011/2012 Toolkit” designed to help prepare health IT companies and developers for the new certification are available at http://www.cchit.org/get_certified.

In other certification news, ONC has named InfoGard Laboratories, Inc. (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) as the third ONC-ATCB, joining CCHIT and the Drummond Group.
