Ingenix Jumps Into HIEs With Axolotl Acquisition
Ingenix is acquiring Axolotl, a provider of HIE services. “Ingenix brings decision-support capabilities that can be combined with an HIE solution to further enhance health outcomes and improve efficiencies,” the organization stated.
The Axolotl management team will remain in place and will lead Ingenix’s efforts in the HIE space.
Ingenix provides HIT and consulting solutions to over 240,000 physicians and nearly 6,000 hospitals. Axolotl’s Elysium Exchange solutions are used by nearly 30,000 physicians, 100,000 health care professionals, over 200 hospitals, 20 Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), and four statewide HIEs.
